Refrigeration
Established in 2002, Sainsbury Refrigeration carries out installation work across the whole country, and concentrates its maintenance and servicing activities in Wales, the Midlands and the South West. The company are authorised installers of Dakin, Mitsubishi and Vent Axia.

The client list is already impressive, among them Singleton Hospital, Swansea, RAF St Athan, The Rank Group and Regents Inn plc. It’s a public-private mix, with sectors ranging from housing to industry to leisure.

Of note is the growth in the installation of Heat Pumps for heating and air conditioning in commercial premises and housing. Some contracts have come from the complementary nature of Sainsbury’s other divisions, more have been won through Refrigeration’s own efforts.

Alan Wingrave has been in the refrigeration business all his life, starting as an apprentice and moving on as Service Manager, then Branch Manager before being approached by Chris Sainsbury to head up the new Division. Three decades in the business, Sainsbury is only his fourth employer - sure sign of a committed worker who is in it for the long haul.

Like the other Sainsbury divisions, Refrigeration has a directly-employed staff of qualified tradesmen (not relying on sub-contractors, with the issues of loyalty, flexibility and control that entails).

An ambitious programme of training and development of all workers from the top down ensures the company can meet the highest standards. All staff have Refrigerant Handling Certificates and Waste Carrier Certificates.

While some in the industry are grudging in the respect they pay to the regulatory framework, Sainsbury make sure they’re ahead of the game.

A case in point is the new EU Gas Regulations, due to come in to force some two years hence, which Sainsbury are complying with today.

Our range of installations comprises comfort cooling systems, individual and multi split systems, heat recovery or heat pump/cooling systems (heat pumps being a cost effective option for heating rooms during the winter months, with the added benefit of being able to provide chilled air during the summer period). These systems can be locally or remotely controlled providing you with versatility and ease of operation.
