Good faith is the cornerstone of the Sainsbury style. Dealings with clients are invariably open and straightforward. Managing Director Chris Sainsbury understands his business well. He started out on the shop floor, so knows the practicalities and the impossibilities of nuts and bolts engineering. But he also has the vision necessary to bring about sustainable, organic growth in a volatile industry. He's been quick to appreciate new technologies, to explore new markets and seek out new applications.

Like many of the best engineering firms, this is a family affair, Chris's wife Helena has been Financial Director for a decade; brother Mark, some thirty years in the industry, is Installations Director, organising labour and materials at site level. The management group they've established around them is remarkably settled, with key team members racking up many years at Sainsbury between them.

Qualified QS Andrew Woods is Commercial Director; Dave Rumbelow, Contracts Manager; Paul Stroud, Senior Estimator; Mike McLaughlan, Projects Engineer; Kevin Jones Electrical Manager; Alan Wingrave heads the newly-established Refrigeration Division; Tracey Jones and Chloe Sainsbury takes care of Accounts, Payroll and Office Administration. Approachable, personable, forward-looking, the team conducts business in a professional yet friendly manner.
